Our research and teaching is informed by science, research and evidence, literacy in digital health, entrepreneurship, and advanced skills in interprofessional collaboration. Our entry-level courses are all accredited by external professional bodies and are recognised for innovation and application of emerging technology and practice throughout all our research, service and educational offerings.

    Food literacy in social housing estates

    Student dietitians from Swinburne University of Technology have recently teamed up with the Health Promotion Team from Access Health and Community and a range of community partners to help develop and implement a food literacy project targeting low socio-economic communities based around social housing projects in East Melbourne.

    With mounting cost of living pressures in Australia the scourge of transitional poverty amongst students has prompted the development of a food security project at Swinburne University of Technology, led by students in the School of Health Science’s Master of Dietetic Program.

  • Leadership in research in disability and chronic disease

    We lead the chronic disease and disability research program in the Iverson Health Innovation Research Institute. As part of this, we initiated and ran the first Australian conference on Wheeled Mobility and Seating (Oceania Seating Symposium).
