Members of our advisory board offer advice, expertise and experience to assist the Social Innovation Research Institute in achieving its vision, objectives and strategy. This includes matters relating to specific program themes, relevant industry and sectoral trends, policy, skills and training, business development and market intelligence.

Dr Michelle Blanchard is a Special Adviser for National Stigma and Discrimination Reduction Strategy, National Mental Health Commission. Dr Blanchard was also the founding director of SANE’s Anne Deveson Research Centre, which honours Anne’s legacy as co-founder of SANE and her tireless work in reducing stigma and discrimination associated with complex mental health issues.

Nick Byrne is the director of TypeHuman, a public interest technology studio that partners with civic-minded organisations to help them discover and execute opportunities that leverage technology in support of their mission.

Ebony Gaylor is the Managing Partner at Decade of Action (DOA), a new consultancy focused on social purpose. The consultancy has been borne out of the idea that businesses must take action now, as consumers, and indeed the planet, run out of time to tackle big issues.

Fiona Meighan is the Chief Eco Innovation Officer of STREAT, a social enterprise helping homeless youth to have a stable self, stable job and stable home. Through its six hospitality businesses in Melbourne, STREAT provides young people with supported pathways to employment, including assistance finding stable housing, vocational skills, and improved mental health and wellbeing. 

Catherine Morley is the CEO of Wimmera Health Care Group, a leading rural health service providing allied, acute, subacute, primary and residential aged care in the Grampians region of Victoria. The Group plays an important role in the education and training of health professionals, recognised by universities and medical bodies as a training and teaching centre for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
