Swinburne has implemented a range of COVIDSafe protocols and provided guidelines to support students, staff, visitors and contractors to study and work on campus. We adhere to the Australian federal and state governments' directives while remaining flexible and responsive to any changes.

Everyone plays an important role in protecting our community. You are encouraged not to attend campus if you are feeling unwell or have any cold or flu like symptoms.

Staying safe on campus

Swinburne’s priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our community. To minimise risk, we have implemented protocols and cleaning guidelines for students and staff undertaking on-campus activities.

Our on-campus protocols have been formalised in Swinburne’s COVIDSafe Plan.

Vaccination requirements

As a university that strongly believes in the benefit of science, we continue to strongly encourage all staff, students, contractors and visitors to remain up to date with their vaccines, including relevant booster shots, in line with the Victorian Government’s advice.

Evidence is not required of vaccination status to attend campus.

Testing positive to COVID-19

In line with the Victorian Government, Swinburne strongly recommends that any student, staff, contractors or visitors who test positive to COVID-19 should not attend campus for at least 5 days and until they are no longer symptomatic. You are encouraged not to attend campus if you are feeling unwell or have any cold or flu like symptoms.

Cleaning protocols

Swinburne's Facilities and Services Group has overall responsibility for cleaning our buildings and amenities, including by employing cleaners. You are also encouraged to 'clean as you go' at your discretion using cleaning products provided to students and staff by Swinburne.

We recommend students and staff to clean shared surfaces before and after lectures, tutorials, workshops and other activities. If your area runs out of cleaning products or needs to have your rubbish bins emptied, please call +61 3 9214 8999., or raise a work order in Maintenance Central (staff login required)

You can also download COVIDSafe posters for your area (staff login required).
