Swinburne University of Technology has been announced as the 2024 MYOB Education Partner of the Year. The award recognises the success of Swinburne’s partnership with MYOB in providing students with hands-on experience using industry-standard accounting software. Swinburne has integrated MYOB’s online platform into key accounting units, enabling students to engage with real-world business scenarios and financial management tools. The partnership goes beyond software access, with Swinburne students benefitting from specialised courses, certifications, and mentorship from industry professionals.
Dual sector model preparing the future workforce
Swinburne has integrated MYOB’s online platform and resources into vocational and higher education curriculum, to prepare students to transition from education to employment with confidence and competence. The dual sector partnership also fosters lifelong learning opportunities through MYOB Academy’s upskilling programs.
"We are delighted to be recognised as MYOB’s Education Partner of the Year. As a proud dual-sector institution Swinburne is uniquely placed to prepare all students — from entry-level learners to those advancing their careers — with practical, industry-relevant skills.” said Madelyn Bolch, Swinburne’s Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer, Vocational Education and Training.
“By integrating MYOB’s online platform and resources into our vocational and higher education curriculums we can ensure that our students are ready for today’s jobs and equipped for the evolving demands of tomorrow’s industries."

Hands on experience for students
Over 1500 students have completed MYOB Business courses "Setup and Operate Computerised Accounting Systems" and "Establish and Maintain Payroll Systems" over the past two and a half years, with hundreds more currently enrolled.
Swinburne has integrated MYOB’s Academy Learning Pathway Program into first-year accounting course, Financial Information for Decision Making. Additionally, MYOB professionals offer guest presentations, networking opportunities, and mentorship sessions, further bridging the gap between academic theory and industry practice.
Swinburne’s collaboration with MYOB also extends to interactive events like the MYOB Believe Breakfast, excursions to MYOB’s head office, and involvement in the Beta Alpha Psi Student Leadership Program, all providing students with invaluable insights into future industry trends.
“By embedding the MYOB Academy Learning Pathway Program into our course and leveraging MYOB’s partnership in our leadership program, we are equipping our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their future careers, making these initiatives cornerstones of our innovative educational approach,” Dr John Webster said.
“This award celebrates the strong connection between Swinburne and MYOB, a partnership that continues to grow, preparing students for success in the evolving accounting and business sectors”.
