Games and Interactivity course induction | UG
Welcome to Orientation – this is your First Day
Designed to help you hit the ground running, Orientation is the best way to prepare for your first week of classes and beyond.
RSVP via the register now button to let us know you're coming.
You’ll find the registration booth for your Orientation outside the library on John Street.
PRO TIP: Campus gets busy during Orientation. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your first session to allow enough time to check in and get where you need to go.
Get to know Swinburne and your new School as you hear from the Dean and meet the staff. Hear from current students and ask them any questions you may have about life at university. This session will set you up with all the tools you need to start your course and provide you with info about all the support available to you at Swinburne.
To help you settle into life at Swinburne, we will run a welcome session during your course induction, giving you all the information you need as an international student arriving in Australia.
Over lunch, you will also meet our International Student Advisory & Support team (ISA&S), who can answer any questions about your time at Swinburne.
All international students starting an undergraduate or postgraduate course are expected to attend to learn more about:
- living in Melbourne
- finding accommodation
- your rights and responsibilities
- support services at Swinburne and in the community
- building a social network
- your health and welfare.
Grab a free lunch and chill out with your new friends. Check out the clubs and service stalls, and make sure you jump on a campus tour to get to know all the cool spots around campus.
Meet your teachers, connect with your peers and learn everything there is to know about your course. Your course induction is the best place to get answers to your questions and start building your network before classes officially begin.
Wrap up the day at our Meet and Mingle event. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to chat with peers and student leaders from your School, and network and connect with staff over refreshments. Debrief with your new friends and get planning for your first week at uni!
This event is for students enrolled in the following courses:
- Bachelor of Games and Interactivity
- Bachelor of Games and Interactivity/Bachelor of Applied Innovation
- Bachelor of Games and Interactivity/Bachelor of Computer Science
- Bachelor of Games and Interactivity/Bachelor of Animation
