This course is designed to teach participants the basic skills and knowledge required to safely weld a wide range of metals using the three welding processes.
The course is specifically focused on students that have little or no welding experience who wish to gain some basic welding expertise.
This course is taught by industry professionals with current trade experience ensuring you are exposed to the most relevant welding methods being used by trades people in industry.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation as this is a non-accredited course.
Clothing OH&S requirements
Students will be required to wear the correct Personal Protective attire; cotton long sleeve overalls (NO JEANS), work boots, and clear safety glasses.
If you do not adhere to the OHS of the workshop, you will be asked to leave for your own safety and the safety of others.
Intakes
This course is offered during the night or on a Saturday.
The night class will run for two consecutive weeks on Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm–9.30pm.
The Saturday class will run for two consecutive weeks from 8.30am–4pm with a one-hour lunch break. Tea and coffee provided.

How to register
To register, please complete and email your completed registration form to trades@swinburne.edu.au by the registration deadline for your chosen intake.
The maximum class size is 12 participants, so we encourage you to act quickly to secure your place. If fewer than 8 students register, the class will be cancelled.
Note: Participants under the age of 18 are welcome but must enquire further via email before registering to enrol.
