How to become a project manager

1. Certify with CAPM

Build a foundation of project management skills with an entry-level credential. This can be achieved via a PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) qualification.

A CAPM certification is internationally recognised and will give you an advantage with potential employers by demonstrating you are keen to develop your skill set, both within the organisation and in your own time. 

2. Take the next step with a diploma

A Diploma or Graduate Diploma of Project Management will provide you with expertise in project management applicable to a range of industries. It is often undertaken by those with experience in the workplace.

It is a pathway taken by many established project managers looking to upskill and demonstrate to employers that they have valuable credentials and experience within the industry. 

Further to a PMP certification, project managers have the opportunity for further study in specialised areas such as Agile and Scrum. These are desired by organisations in certain industries including IT.
