Qualifications
Applicants require:
- Applicants require a discipline-specific bachelor or equivalent qualification relevant to the Australian Curriculum, or other recognised areas of schooling provision that include at least a major study in one teaching area. A teaching area must align with a learning area included in the Australian Curriculum for Years 7-10 or Senior Secondary.
- Admission to this course will consider both academic and Casper results.
- Applicants require a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification that includes at least a major study in one approved secondary teaching area (equivalent to one year full time equivalent study) and a minor in at least one other recognised teaching area (equivalent to half a year of full time equivalent study).

- English Language Literacy
• IELTS (Academic Module): Overall 7.0 with no individual band below 7.0 and a score of no less than 7.5 in speaking and listening; or
• Swinburne English Language Centre: EAP 5 Advanced level with overall 75% and all skills 70% or above
• TOEFL iBT: minimum score 95 (Reading no less than 20, Writing no less than 22)
• Or equivalent measures available at Entry Requirements | International Students | Swinburne University | Melbourne, Australia
The date of the assessment must be no more than 2 years prior to the time of application for registration.
Evidence of English language proficiency is not required if the applicant has completed the full four years of required higher education study, delivered in English, in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, or the Republic of Ireland. (These countries are recognised under Australian migration policy as exempt from English language proficiency assessment).
- All enrolled students must maintain a current Working with Children Check (from the appropriate State Authority). A Police Check may also be required by a school prior to a placement.
- The Literacy and Numeracy Test (LANTITE) for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Students is the means of demonstrating that students have met the required standard of English language literacy and numeracy. In the case of Australian First Nations language speakers, recognition of Australian First Nations language proficiency by the relevant cultural authority is an acceptable alternative standard. Applicants applying to transfer from an ITE course from another Provider must disclose all LANTITE attempts or provide evidence of Australian First Nations language proficiency. Applicants who have unsuccessfully attempted the LANTITE three or more times may not be eligible to receive an offer.
- The University may determine selection criteria and restrictions in respect of courses to apply in addition to these entry requirements. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

How do I pay my fees?
FEE-HELP is a loan given to eligible full-fee paying higher education students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees. The Commonwealth Government pays the amount of the loan directly to Swinburne.
International students need to pay tuition fees up-front by the relevant due date. You can find the due dates on your Statement of Account.

Eligibility for FEE-HELP
You’re eligible for a FEE-HELP loan if you are studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or UniLink or OUA course at Swinburne, and you:
- are an Australian citizen doing at least one unit of your course in Australia; or
- hold a permanent humanitarian visa and will be living in Australia for the duration of your course; or
- hold a New Zealand Special Category visa and meet the special eligibility requirements for New Zealand citizens
- are undertaking bridging study for overseas trained professionals and will be living in Australia for the duration of this study
- have not exceeded the new combined Help Loan limit.
The HELP limit is the maximum amount you can borrow from the government in your lifetime towards your education costs. It is fixed and cannot be topped up.
Eligibility for HECS-HELP
You are eligible for a HECS-HELP loan if you have been offered a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for an undergraduate degree at Swinburne or a UniLink course, and you:
- are an Australian citizen and doing at least one unit of your course in Australia; or
- hold a permanent humanitarian visa and will be living in Australia for the duration of your course; or
