General Information
Overview
The Graduate Certificate of Project Management focuses on the fundamental principles of project management and their application in the real world. The course is for people looking to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of project management across multiple sectors. It develops problem-solving skills and the ability to create and communicate professional project management plans that address complex business problems and support organisational change.
Study structure
Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Project Management requires students to complete units of study to the value of 50 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.
Full-time study: 100 credit points/eight standard units of study per year
Part-time study: 50 credit points/four standard units of study per year
One credit point is equivalent to one hour of study per week per semester (including contact hours and private study)

Learning outcomes
Upon successfully completing the Graduate Certificate of Project Management, graduates will be able to:
- apply coherent and advanced knowledge of key project management principles, standards and practice
- critically evaluate project management theories, methodologies and frameworks in a range of business, management, entrepreneurial and industry contexts
- critically analyse problems from interdisciplinary perspectives and multiple points of view to establish innovative solutions
- communicate in a proficient and professional manner and operate as an effective leader or member of a team
Career opportunities
Graduates will be ready to be a part of an effective project team. They will be able to confidently navigate roles such as project assistant, project administrator or project officer.
Course rules
To qualify for the award of Graduate Certificate of Project Management students must complete 50 credit points comprising:
- Four (4) core units
Maximum Academic Credit
The maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Graduate Certificate of Project Management is 25 credit points (normally two units).
