How credit points work
MathsLink: Methods (MTH00006) is a bridging program for VCE students who have not completed Units 3 and 4 Mathematical Methods.
Swinburne has a variety of aviation, engineering, and information and communication technology courses which list Year 12 Mathematical Methods as a prerequisite for entrance. For students who are interested in studying one of these courses, but do not have the mathematics prerequisite, Swinburne’s MathsLink: Methods program may be able to help.
The modules for MathsLink: Methods are:
- manipulating algebraic functions
- lines and linear functions
- polynomial functions
- solving simple inequalities
- trigonometry and circular functions
- exponential and logarithmic functions
- sequences and series
- differentiation and integration.
It is expected that students will spend a minimum of 15-22 hours a week studying MathsLink: Methods in order to fully comprehend each module. Covering this content in a short teaching period is challenging, and students will need to ensure that they keep up with the workload.
