Healthy Rivers, Healthy Bay
Educate your students on the importance of healthy water systems and the roles we play in affecting them.
We would like to invite your school to be part of the Healthy Rivers, Healthy Bay project – a Swinburne initiative raising community awareness of stormwater and litter issues in local river catchments.
These incursions highlight the importance of our local environment and waterways and examine how our activities impact them and the greater catchment.
Incursions include hands-on activities and games, loan water sampling kits for regular water quality testing and invitations to attend community events with local environment groups and councils.
Sessions can be provided online or onsite at your school. All sessions are customised to highlight your school's location within a river catchment and to discuss litter problems in your school yard.
Free incursions are now available for schools in the Western Port Catchments from Mornington Peninsula, Cardina, Casey and Bass Coast Local Government Areas, as part of the Healthy Rivers, Healthy Bay: Western Port initiative with funding provided by Coastcare Victoria (DELWP) and South East Water.
For schools outside of the Western Port Catchment, the school incursion fees are:
