Study tour overview

This overseas placement a part of the International Teaching Professional Experience Malaysia (ITPEM) project funded by the New Colombo Plan. This funding has been successfully gained by the Consortium called Global Education Practicum: Malaysia. This Consortium bid places Australian pre-service teachers (PSTs), from six Australian universities in Victoria, in Malaysian schools for a credit-bearing practicum.

This tour engages with early childhood, primary and/or secondary sites in Kuching, Malaysia, led by Associate Professor Narelle Lemon. 

During this overseas placement you will spend time engaging in cultural activities and with community members while undertaking 15 days' professional experience. You'll work with a mentor and developyour pedagogical skills in working with young people.

Alongside time in schools teaching, you will engage in #swinprofexp Instagram project, recordings of your learning for the podcast Teachers Supporting Teachers, and be a part of professional development for Malaysian PSTs.
